.ca Domains > Managing your info
- Do you offer real time management of my registrant and domain info?
MyID.ca offers a complete and comprehensive real time online management solution for your domain and registrant info and record. You can at any time change your registrant and domain info and have that info submitted directly to CIRA. All happens through our advanced, user friendly, and very elaborate control panel.
- How do I change my registrant contact info?
Login to myid.ca and click on arrow next to the registrant you want to edit.
At the top of the next page, you will see 'Changing contacts and other CIRA functions:' and beneath that links to change general registrant info (Registrant type and description) as well as registrant contacts. You will also see the link 'CIRA Account'. You can click here to request the CIRA username and password for that registrant.
Any changes you make are sent in realtime to CIRA. Any changes to admin contact will require additional confirmation with CIRA. In other words you will need to login to CIRA website using your CIRA username and password and approve changes. Changes will not be implemented until you confirm with CIRA. Failing to do so within 7 days will cancel the changes requested.
- The current email address of the admin contact is no more valid. I do not have the CIRA username and password associated with the account. How can I change the admin contact email addres?
If your current admin contact email address is no more valid, and if you do not have your CIRA username and password, then you'll need a manual change of administrative contact.
This is a long and labor intensive process that requires forms to be downloaded, filled, witnessed, notarized, and faxed back together with a valid Photo ID (passport, driver's license,..). It costs $40 CDN plus GST and takes few weeks to complete.
You can initiate the process here:
http://myid.ca/mcac/mcac.php
Once we receive the correctly filled forms and required accompanying documents, we'll start the process with CIRA. CIRA will then contact you after reviewing the forms and if any deficiency or incorrect info is found it will reject the request and you'll have to start all over again.
- How do I change the DNS info for my domains?
Login to MyID.ca or, if already logged in, click on 'home' at the left of the top navigational menu
- If you want to update the DNS of one domain only, click on the arrow next to the domain name you want to change the DNS of. Then click on 'Update DNS'. Fill new info in corresponding fields and submit. Your DNS has just been updated!!! You can confirm that by querying the whois utility.
- If you want to update the DNS for many domains at once, click on 'all' next to 'domains' in right column in middle white section. You will then see a list of all your domains. Put a checkmark in the checkbox next to each domain you want to update and then select 'Update DNS' from the drop down menu below the horizontal line. In the next screen, fill the new DNS info in the corresponding fields and then submit. Your DNS has just been updated!!! You can confirm that by querying the whois utility.
Can I change the registrant name on record?
Yes you can but this is considered a transfer between two registrants (registrant transfer). It includes one year renewal (extension of the registration expiry date) and incurs the registrant transfer fee. The transfer itself can be started here
- Is there a charge for changing a domain's DNS info or a registrant's contact info?
No. You can do as many changes to your domain(s) DNS and/or registrant's admin contact modifications as you please without any fee whatsoever.
