.ca Domains > Registration Process > Domains
- Please outline the process to register .ca domain names MyID.ca.
Before you can register any .ca names, you need first to register with both MyID.ca and CIRA. Each of these 2 steps is decribed at length elsewhere in this FAQ.
Once you are a MyID.ca confirmed user and a CIRA registrant, follow this procedure to register domain names:
- Click on 'Register domains' at top menu.
- Enter the .ca domains you want one at a time.
- You'll then know which of your desired domain names are available. You'll have the option to have our system suggest similar related names as well.
- If any of your desired domain names are available, you now need to specify the term of registration (1-10 years). You also need to specify DNS info. If you do not know this info, leave that blank. The default DNS info on our servers will then be assigned. You can always change that anytime later.
- Choose desired additional services if any. You can add forwarding, email, and/or web hosting services
5) Review order and checkout
6) Pay for your order. You can either pay via credit card or direct deposit/email.
7) Your registration gets processed. You must allow 48 hours for DNS info to propagate. Your domain name becomes then accessible on the internet.
