Dot Ca Auction > Fraud Prevention and Security Measures
- What does MyID.ca do to prevent domain fraud?
MyID.ca takes security very seriously and has implemented the following measures:
1) All participants in MyID.ca Dot CA Auction must be adults (above 18), and fully authenticated. Basically, we will have a valid government issued photo ID for each, a valid credit card in their name, and valid contact info.
2) To ensure integrity and prevent the potential of either the domain owner refusing to transfer a successfully auctioned domain (i.e one that received a winning bid above reserve) or the bidder refusing to send the funds on domains he/she won, we'll implement the following measures:
a) The offending party will be banned from future auction and MyID.ca website and access to his/her myid.ca account will be terminated.
b) The offending party info will be published on MyID.ca auction blog so that all others become aware of the matter.
3) All domains submitted will be thoroughly checked and both previous and current owners may be contacted for further validation.
4) We only accept guaranteed funds for payment : Direct deposit, web banking, Interac, Wires, and Hyperwallet. We do not accept a cheque that bounces, a credit card that gets charged back, or paypal payment that is followed by claim that funds were not authorized.
5) We WILL UNEQUIVOCALLY report any suspicion of fraud and/or illegitimate activity to law enforcement authorities. We will provide them with all info we have including IDs, contact info, credit cards submitted,....etc which we are confident will be more than enough to apprehend offending parties.
In other words......It would be extremely foolish for anyone to attempt fraud on this auction.
